John S. Ball has practiced taxation law in Jacksonville since 1979. In addition to Florida courts, he is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court, Middle District of Florida; U.S. Tax Court; U.S. Claims Court; and the United States Court of Appeals, Eleventh Circuit. He is a graduate of Oglethorpe University (B.A., 1971); Emory University (J.D., 1974); and Georgetown University (LL.M. in Taxation, 1978). He co-authored a tax article, "Defending the Accumulated Earnings Tax Case," which appeared in the December 1998 edition of The Florida Bar Journal. Prior to entering private practice, Mr. Ball worked as a Trial Attorney in the Office of Chief Counsel, Internal Revenue Service, Washington, D.C., 1974 - 1976, and in the Office of District Counsel, Internal Revenue Service, Richmond, Virginia, 1977-1979. Mr. Ball is a Board Certified Taxation Lawyer, Florida Bar Board of Legal Specialization.
