Joseph "Joe" L. Phelps III, is a native of Southeast Georgia. He is admitted to practice law in all state courts in Georgia including the Court of Appeals of Georgia and the Supreme Court of Georgia. In addition, he is admitted to practice in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Georgia. He has served as Municipal Court Judge for the City of Jesup since 2007, and he also serves as General Counsel of the Jesup Housing Authority. Mr. Phelps is a Past Exalted Ruler of Jesup Lodge No. 2133 of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks. He is also a member of the Georgia Municipal Court Judge's Council. He is married to Meridith Jill Phelps and is a member of the Jesup First United Methodist Church where her served on the Staff Parrish Relations Committee from 2007-2010. He and Meridith have one son, Griffin.
