• France: "Macron Law" Before the Constitutional Council as Opponents' Last Resort against Implementation

  • The "Macron law" (which aims to promote growth, activity, and equality of economic opportunity) had its third and final reading in the National Assembly on 9 July 2015, completing the process for its implementation. For the third time, Prime Minister Manuel Valls passed the text into law using the constitutional provision that allows the government to pass a law by decree if they manage to survive a vote of confidence in Parliament.
