  • On March 10, 2005, the U.S. Department of Labor ("DOL") published an interim final rule in the Federal Register which affects private employers. The rule implements the Veterans Benefits Improvement Act of 2004 (the "Act"), which was signed into law by President Bush on December 10, 2004 and imposes obligations on employers beyond the reemployment rights and other employee benefits mandated by the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act of 1994 ("USERRA").
