  • On July 13, 2004, the Virginia General Assembly passed, and Governor Warner signed, a bill that restores the exceptions to Virginia's day-of-rest laws that were inadvertently removed on July 1. This means that, if your business or industry was exempt before July 1, it is exempt again. The new legislation also states the General Assembly's intent that all case law interpreting the exceptions that were contained in the prior legislation be considered applicable to this new provision.
