  • Section 806 of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002 ("SOX") provides that: no company required to file reports pursuant to Section 13 or 15(d) of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934 shall discriminate against any person who lawfully assists in an investigation or proceeding relating to a violation of the federal securities laws or the rules of the Securities and Exchange Commission, and an employee who alleges such discrimination may file a complaint with the Secretary of Labor seeking reinstatement, back pay with interest and compensation for special damages.
