- On September 30, 2015 the Minimum Wages National Commission published a resolution in the Federal Official Gazette to establish general and professional minimum wages to be in effect as of October 1, 2015.
Previously, Mexico was divided into two geographic areas (areas "A" and "B"), that had different general minimum wages. Area "A" had higher minimum wages then Area "B."
Through this resolution, as of October 1 of this year there will only be one general minimum wage in the amount of $70.10 Mexican pesos per day. The professional daily minimum wages were also updated and standardized to apply nationwide.
