Ryan D. Gesten was born in Forest Hills, New York where he graduated from The Kew-Forest School in 1993, the son of a criminal attorney and a linguists teacher. Mr. Gesten attended the University of Miami and graduated in 1997 with a Bachelor of Business Administration, majoring in Marketing. Mr. Gesten made the Dean’s List throughout his upper-class having maintained above a 3.5 GPA for his last four semesters.
Thereafter, Mr. Gesten attended the University of Miami, School of Law. During Mr. Gesten’s first year, he won the Dean’s Certificate of Achievement for Academic Performance in Civil Procedure. Mr. Gesten attended school year-round and completed one semester early, having spent one summer at the University of London, Faculty of Laws, in London, England and a second summer interning at the Department of Justice, U.S. Trustee’s office. Upon graduation in December 1999, Mr. Gesten successfully passed the Florida Bar on his first attempt and was admitted to practice on May 1, 2000.
Immediately prior to joining RMZ as an equity partner, Mr. Gesten was the managing partner of The Law Offices of Ryan D. Gesten, P.A. (“RDGPA”). At RDGPA, Mr. Gesten represented developers, commercial and residential landlords, banks, debt buyers, and business owners and focused on commercial and business litigation, real estate title and litigation, trust and estate litigation, foreclosure, collection, and insurance subrogation. Mr. Gesten is a title agent writing on Old Republic National Title Insurance Company through Attorneys' Title Fund Services, LLC.
Mr. Gesten will continue to focus is practice in these areas of law with RMZ.
Mr. Gesten has been a Lecturer for National Business Institute on the subjects of collections and the FDCPA for the series entitled Boost Your Bottom Line: Your Guide to Effective Debt Collection in Florida.
Additionally, Mr. Gesten was a contributing author of International Commercial Debt Collection, Carswell (West Publications).
