Arthur (Nate) Bortz has been representing businesses and individuals in a broad range of civil matters in California since 2009, and joined the Nevada bar in 2016. He currently handles cases throughout California and Nevada.

Nate has represented developers and subcontractors in residential and commercial construction defect cases, as well as disaster remediation subcontractors in disputes related to the scope and cost of repair. Nate’s general liability practice includes representing resorts, hotels, retail stores, commercial properties, security companies, and auto insurance carriers in negligence and premises liability cases.

Nate serves as outside general counsel for several California and Nevada corporations, assisting in contract disputes and offering both business and legal advice. Nate’s corporate clients range from tech companies to international importing businesses. He has represented officers and directors of corporations in a wide range of business disputes. In addition, Nate has represented parties in residential real estate transaction disputes arising out of purchase and sale agreements.

Nate graduated from California State University Chico in 2006 where he studied Political Science and Criminal Justice. He earned his Juris Doctorate from Golden Gate University School of Law in 2009. While in law school, Mr. Bortz served as a Judicial Extern for the San Francisco County Superior Court in addition to internships with the San Francisco County Public Defender’s Office and several civil litigation firms.

Representative Experience: dispute over development of customized software; Wisconsin; Defendant software developer; Business And Commercial Litigation, Contract/UCC; The parties entered into two contracts for the implementation of human resources software. The plaintiff was very satisfied with the first project which required little customization. The second agreement involved a highly customized software program that required complex design, development, and integration. The plaintiff was dissatisfied and sued for, among other things, breach of contract and misrepresentation.; The case settled at mediation.
