Biography



Lawrence J. McClafferty is a trial and appellate lawyer concentrating on civil litigation, particularly with respect to business torts, contract disputes, and issues arising out of commercial and real estate transactions. Of special note is his extensive experience with disputes involving homeowners associations and condominiums.

Mr. McClafferty received his undergraduate degree from Boston College in 1990 and his J.D. from Washington & Lee University in 1994. He is admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court, Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals and the United States Districts Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Virginia, including their Bankruptcy Courts. He has been a member of the Virginia State Bar since 1994, and is also a member of the Loudoun County Bar Association (President, 2007-2008), Fairfax Bar Association, the Virginia Bar Association, and the Community Association Institute.

Born and raised in Washington, D.C., Mr. McClafferty resides in Ashburn, Virginia with his wife and four daughters.
