  • In Formal Opinion 06-443, the ABA Standing Committee on Ethics and Professional Responsibility concluded that in most cases, Model Rule of Professional Conduct 4.2 does not prohibit an opposing lawyer from contacting inside counsel of an organization, even when the organization is represented in the matter by outside counsel.
