  • The First Amendment to the United States Constitution secures one of the most wellknown rights in the world: freedom of speech. A federal trademark registration, on the other hand, grants its owner the exclusive right to use the registered mark in connection with the goods and services that are the subject of the registration, thereby depriving others of the rights granted to the trademark owner.
