Due to the congestion found on many thoroughfares in New Jersey, pedestrian accidents have risen to catastrophic proportions. Unfortunately, despite pedestrian safety programs implemented throughout the state, fatalities continue to occur among pedestrians. Oftentimes, distracted driving and reckless driving are contributing factors to this type of accident as well as poorly lit streets and a lack of designated crosswalks.
