Pedestrian accidents occur at night when visibility is low, and commonly take place in urban areas where more congestion appears on the roadways. Although pedestrians are afforded the same protection as motorists, many drivers may not realize this, and may fail to use caution when driving in their vicinity. Depending on the amount of impact, when a vehicle strikes a pedestrian, the victim could sustain severe injuries or even a fatality.
