  • Early on Thursday morning, a head-on collision fatally injured an off-duty firefighter and left three other victims with personal injuries. Around 2 am, the accident occurred in Jersey City, New Jersey when a driver collided with the car that the firefighter and three other individuals occupied. The firefighter was a passenger in the car that was hit, and the other victims are receiving treatment at the Jersey City Medical Center.

Collisions take place more frequently during the early morning or late-night hours because visibility decreases. Drowsy driving may also be a factor in overnight accidents, and could lead to personal injuries or even fatalities in a crash. When the accident is a head-on collision, oftentimes the results are dire.
