Two separate vehicles hit a pedestrian, leading to fatal injuries for the victim on Monday night. Around 5 pm, the fatal pedestrian accident occurred when a man walking in Hamilton, New Jersey, was hit by a car driven by a 30-year-old woman, and then struck by a pickup truck, which a 57-year-old man was driving. The victim succumbed to fatal injuries at the scene of the crash.
Although pedestrians are afforded the same protection as motorists, oftentimes drivers are unaware of the traffic laws. They may be engaging in distracted driving or be oblivious to the presence of a pedestrian in an intersection or near a road. Even if an individual uses extreme caution when walking near a busy road, a potential accident may take place, and the possibility of personal injuries and fatalities may accompany it.
