It is that time of year again where parents are on the hunt for the toys that will mesmerize their kids for the holiday season. As you begin your holiday shopping to find the perfect gifts for your little ones, keep in mind that there are toys to avoid because they pose a danger to children. Each year, the Boston-based child safety organization, World Against Toys Causing Harm, or W.A.T.C.H., composes a list of the most hazardous toys. The nonprofit group has shared the list in preparation for the holidays for more than four decades.
This year’s list includes:
Hand Fidgetz Spinners: These may pose a choking hazard.
Melissa and Doug’s Brianna Babydoll: This doll is singled out for potential choking injuries.
Razor Jetts Heel Wheels: This one made the list for possible blunt impact and fire-related burn injuries.
Tolo’s Pull Along Pony: This toy could cause strangulation and entanglement injuries.
Slackers Slackline Classic Series Kit: Potential strangulation and fall-related injuries put this toy on the list.
Marvel Spider-Man Spider-Drone Official Movie Edition: Potential eye and body impact injuries may be possible with this toy.
Itty Bitty’s Baby Stacking Toy: This toy made the list for potential choking hazards.
Wonder Woman Battle Action Sword: Potential blunt-force injuries are possible due to the material of the sword.
Oval Xylophone: This musical toy could cause choking injuries.
Nerf Zombie Strike Deadbolt Crossbow: This toy can cause potential eye injuries.
Although this list names the top most dangerous toys found by this organization, there are other potentially dangerous and fatal toys on the market. Sadly, some of these will not be discovered until after a child has been injured.
