  • All property owners in Philadelphia should know that the Philadelphia City Council recently passed a law allowing property owners to defer any real estate tax increases for tax year 2019, pending the outcome of their appeal of the 2019 tax assessment for their property. In order to take advantage of the opportunity to defer your increase for 2019, a property must have filed an appeal of their 2019 real estate tax assessment for the property with the Board of Revision of Taxes. The deadline to file an appeal of the 2019 Real Estate Assessment was October 1, 2018; however, an appeal may also be filed no more than 30 days following a First Level Review Decision issued by the Office of Property Assessment.
