• Fatal Work Accidents and Injuries
  • August 17, 2017
  • Accidents happen on the job all the time, in all industries. Much of the time the victims suffer only minor injuries, but there are times when an accident turns tragic. A recent case illustrates this sad reality. Recently, two Amtrak CSX workers were fatally struck by trains while working, leaving family and friends to grieve, and to wonder what happened and why.
The accident, which temporarily suspended Amtrak service and caused some delays as well, occurred in Washington D.C., and was caused by a train that came from Philadelphia. The two fatally struck workers passed at the scene, and a third was taken to the hospital for evaluation. The workers had exited a CSX train that was coming from Baltimore when the accident occurred.
No matter how diligent and safety-conscious a worker is, an accident can still happen despite their best precautions.
