Although pedestrians are protected by specific guidelines, many motorists do not realize or acknowledge that there are laws that protect them or that the laws exist. Unfortunately, the amount of pedestrian accidents and fatalities increases each year and commonly occurs in highly congested, urban areas and at night when visibility decreases.
