A motor vehicle accident on Sunday night fatally injured two individuals in Mechanicsville, Maryland. Around 9:09 pm, an SUV and another vehicle collided in the northbound lanes of Three Notch Road between Murphy Lane and Friendship School Road. The second vehicle involved in the crash, which was split in half, could not be identified due to heavy fire damage. First responders discovered one individual, who was fatally injured, in the woods near the crash site, and confirmed another fatality at the scene of the motor vehicle accident. An adult and one child sustained personal injuries and were transported to an area trauma center for treatment.
When darkness falls, road visibility diminishes, which may lead to motor vehicle accidents. Depending on the severity of the accident, car occupants may sustain minor physical trauma or debilitating injuries that adversely affect their quality of life. In some cases, accident victims may be at-risk for fatalities, especially if they are thrown from their vehicles or a fire engulfs their cars.
