On Thursday morning, an adult daycare bus engaged in a collision with a car. The bus crash occurred around 9:12 am in Timonium, Maryland when nine passengers were traveling to an adult daycare center. Five passengers incurred serious injuries in the bus crash, and three passengers, the bus driver, and the driver of the car sustained minor injuries. A female passenger, who was 88 years old and critically injured, succumbed to her fatal injuries at a local hospital where she was being treated.
Since buses do not contain many safety features, when a bus hits another vehicle in an accident the extent of the injuries for occupants could be much more severe. Sometimes, bus drivers may cause a collision if they are fatigued, intoxicated while driving, or lack experience or the proper qualifications to drive a bus. In some cases, the bus companies fail to update or maintain their vehicles, which contributes to more bus accidents.
