A multi-vehicle crash in Forestville, Maryland caused a fatality and multiple injuries. Just after 2:30 pm on Thursday afternoon, the accident occurred when a car crashed into two other vehicles near the intersection of Pennsylvania Avenue and Brooks Drive. A man who was driving one of the vehicles succumbed to his fatal injuries at a local hospital while three other women sustained multiple personal injuries, some of whom needed to be extricated from their vehicles. The police suspect speed may have been a factor in the fatal multi-vehicle crash.
Multi-vehicle crashes can occur along a congested highway or at a busy intersection, and leave car occupants with catastrophic injuries and potential fatalities. One minor car accident could spur on additional collisions because other drivers may engage in reckless driving around the accident site or be distracted by the wreckage. Construction or other obstructions on the road may also lead to accidents that come with disastrous results.
