• Individual Seriously Injured After Smyrna School Bus Collision
  • September 19, 2017
  • An individual sustained a serious injury after a school bus collision occurred on Tuesday morning. The accident involved a car and the school bus, and took place around 6:06 am in the southbound lanes of US 13 at Black Diamond Road in Smyrna, Delaware. The victim was taken via ambulance to the Christiana Hospital for treatment of personal injuries.

Larger vehicles like school buses are more complex to operate, so drivers must undergo extra training to drive them. Even with the appropriate training and experience, drivers may lose control of the vehicle or engage in negligent or reckless driving, which may put passengers at-risk for sustaining life-threatening injuries or potential fatalities if a crash occurs.
