    What is this Class Action About?

    A Class Action lawsuit against the makers of the antidepressant Paxil was approved in Canada on March 27, 2017. The class action alleges that GlaxoSmithKline was negligent and that taking Paxil during pregnancy caused cardiovascular (heart) birth defects in newborns.

    Who is Eligible for Compensation?

    You may be a class member and entitled to compensation under the Settlement Agreement if:

    Mother

    Took Paxil

    • You were pregnant between 1993 and December 3, 2012, and;
    • Took Paxil during your pregnancy, and;
    • Your child was born with heart defects, and;
    • You are a Canadian resident.

    OR

    Child

    With Heart Defect

    • You were born between 1993 and December 3, 2012, and;
    • Your mother took Paxil during her pregnancy, and;
    • You were born with heart defects, and;
    • You are a Canadian resident.

    AND

    • You are a resident of British-Columbia; or
    • You opted-in to the class action on or before September 26, 2016 (if not a resident of British-Columbia).
