Attorney Theresa L. Mallen is a partner practicing in McCathern’s Los Angeles office. She joined McCathern through its merger with Braden, Hinchcliffe & Hawley LLP. Theresa’s practice is concentrated in construction defect litigation, with additional experience in personal injury defense, products liability, real estate disclosure, insurance coverage litigation, and landlord-tenant relations.

Theresa has experience in handling defense of developers and general contractors under Owner Controlled Insurance Programs (OCIP), better known as wrap-up policies. Her expertise includes Calderon statutes and pre-litigation claims under SB800, codified in California Civil Code, Section 896, et seq.

Theresa has represented clients during jury trials as second chair and in arbitration. She is well versed in contract litigation, mechanics liens, and debt collections.

Theresa earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Loyola Marymount University, and a law degree from Whittier School of Law. She is admitted to practice in all California and Nevada courts, and is a member of the state bars of California and Nevada.
