Biography

Mike Krasny is a retired member of the firm and of counsel. Mike was a general practitioner whose practice included extensive work in civil and commercial litigation, general business law, family law, personal injury and wrongful death. The general practice of law includes wills, trust, probate business and real estate transactions. He is presently doing Mediation and Arbitration.

During the Korean war, Mike served in the United States Air Force and was trained as a Chinese language interpreter at Yale University.

After graduating from Yale, he was assigned to Keesler Air Force Base in Mississippi where he was a Chinese interpreter for Chinese Air Force Officers from Taiwan studying electronics.

Mike has a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree with a major in accounting. Mike attended the University of Miami College of Law where he earned his Juris Doctor degree in 1960. Following his graduation from Law School, he was employed as a Law Clerk to G. Harrold Carswell, United States Federal District Judge.

Mike has been a resident of Florida since 1945, and has been practicing Law in Brevard County Florida since 1962. He is admitted to practice in all courts of the State of Florida, Federal District Court for the Middle and Northern Districts of Florida, United States Circuit Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit, and the United States Supreme Court. He was City Attorney and prosecutor for the City of Satellite Beach, and Assistant City Attorney and prosecutor for the City of Melbourne. He also served as Municipal Court Judge for the Town of Melbourne Beach, Florida.

He is certified by the Florida Supreme Court as a Civil Circuit Court Mediator and Arbitrator and also is a Certified Mediator for the Fifth District Court of Appeal and the Federal District Court for the Middle District of Florida. He is also licensed to practice law in the State of Colorado.

Mike is a member of the Brevard County Bar Association. In 1973, he was President of the Brevard County Bar Association, and honored as Outstanding Bar President for the State of Florida in 1974. He was formerly the Chairman of the Board of the Easter Seal Rehabilitation Center and Commodore of the Eau Gallie Yacht Club.

He is married to Althea Krasny and has five children, all of whom have graduated from the University of Florida. He also has six grandchildren.

Mike is an instrument rated private pilot, a certified scuba diver and an avid fly fisherman.
