Biography

Dustin L. Watkins is an associate attorney with the law firm of Sugarman & Susskind P.A. where he practices labor and employee benefits law. He advises Florida governmental pension plans on federal tax qualification, state law regulation, legislative developments, and various administrative issues. He also advises multiemployer pension and health plans on compliance with federal laws and regulation, including ERISA, HIPAA/HITECH, tax qualification, and more. He also has extensive experience representing labor organizations in grievance arbitrations, unfair labor practice litigation, and internal administrative and regulatory matters. He was previously a law clerk for the Service Employees International Union Local 73 in Chicago, Illinois. He is a member of the AFL-CIO Lawyers Coordinating Committee, the Florida Chapter of the National Employment Lawyers Association, and the Labor and Employment Section of the Florida Bar. He earned his Juris Doctor in 2012 from Chicago-Kent College of Law and his Bachelor’s Degree in 2009 from the University of Missouri – Columbia. He is admitted to the bars of Illinois and Florida.
