Mr. Friedland was born in Rockville Center, Long Island, N.Y., raised in New England and relocated to California in 1980. Previous career ventures include an apprenticeship in 18th Century historic preservation, construction, six years as an undercover private investigator and decades in and out of the music industry as a performer, manager and legal counsel.
Mr. Friedland began practicing as an attorney with the law firm of Reith, Bebermeyer, Flippo & Wieben as an associate in 1987, concentrating his practice on civil transactions and litigation. Mr. Friedland acted as campaign counsel for Dean Flippo’s successful bid for District Attorney of Monterey County.
Mr. Friedland associated with David Sabih & Associates handling toxic tort and personal injury matters and worked on numerous cases in association with the Law Offices of Melvin Belli.
Mr. Friedland operated the Law Offices of Jed Peace Friedland in Carmel from 1992-1998 specializing in civil litigation and attorney fee disputes. During this time he also represented numerous radio stations, record companies, musicians, artists, authors and martial artists servicing a full range of their legal needs from contracts, management, business formation and litigation.
Mr. Friedland has personally conducted 3000+ depositions, runs a Depoleon, a cutting edge deposition summary service, and has presented his entertaining “Deposition Boot Camp” lecture to professional associations and law firms.
Mr. Friedland currently concentrates his practice in the areas of personal injury, premises liability, environmental, business, and construction defect litigation, representing plaintiffs, defendants, contractors, subcontractors and developers. He travels regularly throughout California for site inspections, expert meetings, depositions, hearings, mediations, arbitration and trials, handling legal matters in all jurisdictions of California, State and Federal courts.
