Biography

Sean Maffett joined the firm’s transactional practice group as an associate in 2017. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Maffett served as corporate counsel for Designer Shoe Warehouse (“DSW”) in Columbus, Ohio, where he gained experience in a variety of corporate legal areas including corporate governance, real estate, employment law, and contract drafting and negotiation. Mr. Maffett’s in-house experience with DSW provides him with the experience necessary to provide strategic and practical advice to the firm’s business clients.Mr. Maffett earned his law degree from The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law in 2016, where he received Order of the Coif, and was an articles editor for the Ohio State Law Journal. During law school, Mr. Maffett worked as a legal intern for the Columbus-based retailer Express, Inc. and served as a Board Fellow for the Capital Square Foundation. Prior to attending law school, Mr. Maffett received a Bachelor of Science Degree from Xavier University, in 2012.
