Tommy Mancuso has represented individuals and business clients throughout Alabama, the United States and overseas in Asian and Russian markets, focusing on corporate and business transactions, mergers and acquisitions, taxation, tax controversies, healthcare and trust and estate matters. In addition, Tommy has extensive experience in drafting private placement memoranda or offering statements in connection with real estate transactions.
Tommy began his legal career as a law clerk on the Alabama Supreme Court and subsequently has been a partner in three of the largest firms in the State of Alabama. He was also a legislative aid through Senator John J. Sparkman and was Assistant Counsel to the U. S. Senate Select Committee on Small Business in Washington, D. C.
Throughout his career, with his masters degree in taxation as a foundation for tax and corporate work, Tommy has been a generalist in a world today of highly specialized attorneys. This approach has permitted Tommy to expand his client base so that he has represented clients in dozens of merger and acquisition transactions, business transactions involving complex relationships and tax issues, divestitures of assets, real estate syndications, shareholder and limited liability company disputes and he has acquired extensive experience with healthcare providers, including physicians, clinics and major hospitals. He has also gained considerable experience with the Alabama Certificate of Need process. He regularly handles tax controversies with the Internal Revenue Service and the Alabama Department of Revenue and has conducted a training seminar for state tax auditors who are part of the southeast tax compact.
