Tim Gallagher has a diverse practice encompassing litigation and transactional law with an emphasis on banking law, mortgage/foreclosure law, public utility law, and nonprofit organizations law. He litigates at the trial court and appellate level including before the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals and the Alabama Supreme Court.
Tim has also been a pro bono volunteer since his admission to the Bar in 2007. In addition to handling numerous pro bono cases, Tim has taken on a leadership role in pro bono efforts at the state and local level. In 2013, the Montgomery County Volunteer Lawyers Program (Montgomery VLP) was founded and Tim was elected as the first President of its Board of Directors. Tim served as President from 2013-2016 and he is presently serving on the Montgomery VLP Board as the immediate Past-President. Additionally, Tim has served on the Alabama State Bar Pro Bono Celebration Task Force since 2012. In 2015, Tim served as the Co-Chair of the Local Bar Involvement Subcommittee and in 2016 he served as Chair of the ASB Section Involvement Subcommittee. Tim was appointed Vice-Chair of the Task Force for 2017 and will serve as Chair in 2018. Tim has also been a member of the Alabama State Bar Pro Bono and Public Service Committee since 2013. In 2014, Tim was awarded the Thomas J. Methvin Volunteer Lawyer of the Year Award for his volunteer work in Montgomery, Alabama. Also in 2014, Tim was a nominee for the Alabama State Bar Harold Albritton Pro Bono Leadership Award for his statewide pro bono efforts. In 2016 and 2017, Tim was awarded the Montgomery VLP Medal of the Samaritan.
