Biography

Winston Whitehead Edwards (“Winston”) grew up in Montgomery, Alabama and graduated from The Montgomery Academy in 1984. He then attended the University of Alabama, Marion Military Institute and Huntingdon College, where he earned two undergraduate degrees and graduated magna cum laude from Huntingdon College with a 4.0 g.p.a. and World History Honors.As a graduate of Cumberland Law School, Winston practiced law at Beers, Anderson, Jackson and Smith in 1996, specializing in civil litigation defense. In 2001, Winston opened the Alabama office of Bush Craddock and Reneker, a Dallas Texas Law Firm, where he served as the managing attorney until 2011. At Bush Craddock and Reneker, Winston continued to practice insurance defense litigation, family law and represented large manufacturers in Magnuson Moss Warranty Claims, construction defect claims, breach of contract, negligence and general tort defense work. Winston handles construction claims under both the HUD code and the IRC covering general residential and commercial construction. He also represents licensed professionals including doctors, attorneys, contractors and engineers before the various licensure commissions, and served several terms as a Temporary Judge of Probate hearing cases involving petitions for commitment to the State Department of Mental Health. Winston continues to handle mental illness cases before the Probate Court in Montgomery. Winston’s primary focus is on family law including divorce and child custody matters.Throughout Winston’s practice, he has also represented plaintiffs in personal injury cases and business dispute litigation. He has extensive experience in the state courts as well as the federal courts in the State of Alabama. Winston is admitted to practice in the Northern, Middle and Southern Districts of Alabama and has an “A” rating by Martindale Hubble.Winston has twin, 16 year old sons, Spangler and Wylie, who are Seniors at Prattville Christian Academy. Winston’s parents are Dr. Winston T. Edwards and Marguerite W. Edwards, who still live in the same home Winston grew up in Montgomery. Winston’s father retired from the practice of medicine in 2014, after 43 years and his mother is a renowned portrait artist.
