Originally from South Florida, Ms. Sloan received her undergraduate degree in psychology, magna cum laude, from Emory University. During her studies, she received a research grant to work in a psychology lab at the University of Oxford. Thereafter, she graduated from Tulane University Law School, magna cum laude, where she was a Legal Research & Writing Senior fellow, a senior member of the Journal of Technology and Intellectual Property, and a recipient of the CALI Excellence for the Future Award in Law of Higher Education. During law school, she was also a summer extern for the Honorable Ivan L.R. Lemelle at the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana and was an assistant instructor with the Duke Talent Identification Program where she taught Criminal Law and Mock Trial to gifted seventh to tenth graders at Texas A&M University.
