Biography

During his nearly 30 years of experience in the realm of technology, Claude has developed a remarkable set of skills that encompass the practice of law, engineering, business and Intellectual Property strategy. Having been an electrical engineer for nearly eight years, Claude has developed an in-depth understanding of technology related issues and is able to devise techniques and approaches for the management and development of novel technologies, keeping in mind the Intellectual Property aspects of the technology being developed.

For several years Claude worked with some of the world's leading engineers and scientists while serving as in-house counsel at a major global telecommunications corporation. Although Claude has been exposed to many types of technologies, he is especially knowledgeable in the wireless communications and signal processing fields. Some of the technologies with which Claude has been involved as an electrical engineer include the design of microprocessor based data acquisition cards, on-board aircraft communications for military applications, design of analog circuitry such as filters, analog amplifiers, phase locked loops (PLL) and Automatic Gain Control (AGC) circuits. Claude has also designed analog to digital information storage boards, digital encoders, and digital filters using digital signal processors. Claude has experience writing software using machine language, assembly language and high level languages.

Claude has been a Patent Attorney for over 20 years and has a varied practice that includes patent prosecution, patent litigation including preparation for Markman Hearings, and working with expert witnesses. Claude is able to successfully navigate between engineering, law, marketing and business issues to help develop business and IP strategies for his clients. Claude especially enjoys strategizing with small to mid-size startups and deftly uses his corporate, large firm, small firm and consulting experiences to craft comprehensive business and IP strategies for these clients. Claude has a comprehensive approach to his practice where he not only focuses on legal issues, but also on the interplay between technical, business, marketing and legal issues.
