Working for more than 40 years in litigation and arbitration, David Langlois helps clients-energy companies, international trading institutions and the companies that finance them-resolve complex commercial disputes in litigation and arbitration. Successfully guiding clients in this business sector since the early 1970s, David represents commodity trading concerns primarily in oil, oil products and energy.

David advises clients throughout the United States and assists with litigation in foreign countries involving trading disputes, contract, insurance, admiralty, customs, banking, regulatory and related matters. He counsels clients with respect to the purchase, sale, finance, transportation and production of bulk physical commodities including crude oil and oil products, grains and feeds, coffee, coal, metals, minerals, ores and concentrates.

He has participated in many bench and jury trials as well numerous arbitrations and has served as a party-selected and tribunal-appointed arbitrator.

Selected Experience

Represented Noble Americas in arbitration against CITGO Petroleum.
Defended against allegations of contamination or threatened contamination of groundwater from the use of gasoline additive MTBE.
Defended an international natural gas trading company against claims for indemnification and contribution in an underpayment of royalty case.
