About our New York, NY: office

- Our firm was founded in 1978. At that time, our practice was focused on real estate law. We have since expanded into 16 other complementary practice areas.

- Our firm currently employs 25 attorneys.

- Our firm has earned an "AV" peer review rating from Martindale-Hubbell®. This is its highest rating, which is bestowed on attorneys and firms with the best legal skills and highest ethical standards.

- The majority of our clients are closely held businesses that have a need for sophisticated representation. Additionally, we handle discreet matters for Fortune 500 companies and other public companies.

- We also serve individuals, offering specialized legal services in the areas of real estate, tax, trusts and estates, corporate finance and securities, and litigation, among others.

- We have extensive international and tax experience. That enables us to assist foreign entities and individuals with their U.S. operations, and handle international matters for U.S. businesses.

- Each of our partners is considered to be a leading expert in his or her area of practice. As a result, we are able to provide clients with a superior work product rivaling that of larger firms, while maintaining the billing structure of a smaller firm.

- We are considered one of the premier real estate firms in the city. Our firm regularly handles multi-million dollar real estate deals and currently represents over 200 cooperative and condominium boards.

- Our attorneys are seasoned litigators. We appear in court regularly and have a reputation for being willing and able to bring a case to verdict when necessary.

- In 2011, partners David L. Berkey, Roger L. Stavis and Randy J. Heller were once again named "Super Lawyers," an honor that is given to fewer than 5 percent of the state's most respected attorneys. Click here to read a PDF of the firm's 2011 Super Lawyers profile.

Mr. Luxemburg helped our co-op settle a lease dispute with a difficult shareholder. His negotiating skills are impressive, and his manner refreshingly frank.

I was very impressed with Mark Brenner's capacity for professional, empathetic and astute guidance. He was always available and patient, and as honorable as he was dogged about achieving success. While I always felt I was at the top of priority list, I was also impressed by his profound sense of fairness to everyone involved. If he wasn't practicing law, he'd make an excellent judge, but I"m happy he's not yet made that leap because I'm grateful to his legal advice.
