Todd E. Gilbert concentrates his practice in several areas of litigation, including medical malpractice, general liability, products liability and municipal liability. Mr. Gilbert has devoted his career to defending health care providers in medical malpractice actions. During his time at Santangelo, Benvenuto & Slattery, Mr. Gilbert managed several hospital accounts and has particular experience in the management of institutions involved in bankruptcy proceedings. He has engaged in appellate practice having prepared briefs and successfully argued before the New York State Appellate Divisions. Mr. Gilbert also handles residential and commercial real estate transactions and litigation. He has served as a court-appointed receiver in several commercial foreclosure proceedings.Mr. Gilbert received his Juris Doctorate from St. John's Law School in 1994. He was an Editor for the St. John's Bankruptcy Law Review. He is admitted to the New York and Connecticut State bars as well as the United States District Court, Southern District of New York.Mr. Gilbert is involved in numerous charitable endeavors including providing pro bono legal services to Grace Community Church. Mr. Gilbert has also planned several fundraising events including the Coaches Classic in New Canaan, Connecticut to support the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
