Lisa Wegner is a seasoned trial and appellate attorney with over 15 years of experience handling a wide range of commercial litigation in both federal and state courts. She has been named a Southern California “Rising Star” by Super Lawyers, as published in Los Angeles Magazine, for ten of the last eleven years. She came to KA after a career at Irell & Manella and two respected litigation boutiques.Lisa has litigated all aspects of business disputes, mass torts, class actions, fraud, unfair business practices, employment, real estate, foreclosure actions, probate, insolvency, and bankruptcy proceedings. She has been lead counsel in trying numerous actions to defense verdicts under the Americans with Disabilities Act and California companion statutes.She also has extensive appellate experience, with three published decisions to her credit: Munson v. Del Taco, Inc., 46 Cal. 4th 661 (2009); Munson v. Del Taco, Inc., 522 F.3d 997 (2008); and Morgan v. AT&T Wireless Services, Inc., 177 Cal. App. 4th 1235 (2009). Lisa has argued cases in the California Supreme Court, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals and the California Courts of Appeal.An accomplished author, Lisa is a member of the Board of Contributors to The Rutter Group State and Federal Practice Guides. In addition to being admitted in California, Lisa is a member of the State Bar of Hawaii.Lisa received her J.D. from the University of Southern California's Gould School of Law, and simultaneously received a Masters of Business Taxation (M.B.T.) from USC's Leventhal School of Accounting. Her GPA in the M.B.T. program was 3.83/4.0, despite having had no accounting or tax background. Before enrolling in law school, Lisa graduated magna cum laude from Skidmore College with a double major in philosophy and theater.She is an avid runner, golfer and scuba diver.
