Biography

Mr. DeFino has over 40 years of experience as a trial practitioner focusing primarily in Estate Planning & Administration, Elder Law, Criminal Law, and Personal Injury. He has handled hundreds of cases in District, County, State, and Federal courts before judges and juries.

Mr. DeFino received his J.D. from the Delaware Law School in 1975. He was honored with the law school’s outstanding alumni Achievement Award in 1983.

He is a member of the American, Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, and Delaware County Bar Associations. He is a member of the Bar Register of Preeminent Lawyers, the National and Pennsylvania Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. Mr. DeFino has the coveted legal ability rating of “A” (from very high to preeminent) and the highest general recommendation rating of “V” (very high) in the Martindale-Hubbell Law Directory. He has been named to: Best Lawyers Readers’ Choice 2015-2017, Delaware County Times; Top Lawyers 2016 by the Legal Community, Philadelphia Inquirer; Ten Best Attorneys 2017 for Exceptional and Outstanding Client Service, American Institute of Criminal Law Attorneys; Best Lawyers, Main Line Today; and has been recognized as a Pennsylvania Super Lawyer.

Mr. DeFino is admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court, the United States Circuit Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania and the Pennsylvania Supreme Court. His practice serves clients in Delaware, Philadelphia, Chester, and various other surrounding counties. Mr. DeFino is a member of the Delaware County Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and Delaware County Elder Law Committee.
