About this firm

In 1936, Attorney Ralph G. Hoffman (1910-1994) established the law practice that is now known as Hoffman, Comfort, Offutt, Scott & Halstad, LLP in Westminster. Service to our clients as well as to the community in which we live and work has always been our hallmark. In addition to meeting our professional responsibilities, we encourage our attorneys to participate in civic and charitable organizations. Today, the firm consists of seven attorneys and has produced several past presidents of the Carroll County Bar Association.

Every day, people in Maryland encounter situations requiring legal advice. An automobile or job-related accident may result in personal injuries. Changes in your marriage or family situation may require a family law attorney. Proper estate planning with wills or trusts could provide you or your family with substantial tax savings. The death of a loved one may require estate administration. Business transactions frequently involve complicated negotiations, documentation and sometimes litigation. Regardless of how complex your legal matter or problem is, Hoffman, Comfort, Offutt, Scott & Halstad, LLP can help you find a solution.

We also assist clients in real estate purchases and refinancing, zoning and land use, and collections. In order to provide the most effective and efficient service to our clients, our attorneys concentrate in these main areas of practice:
