Recent win:

Mr. Mankey recently won an acquittal in state court on a second degree assault case (assault with a dangerous weapon) utilizing the defense of self defense. The alleged victim claimed that he had been beaten by Mr. Mankey's client with a metal bar three feet in length and weighing 18 pounds.

Mr. Mankey acknowledged that the incident did in fact take place but that his client was acting in self defense and that the alleged victim's broken arm and tooth loss was an unavoidable consequence of his client protecting himself. The two co-workers became involved in an incident at work after the Defendant claimed that the co-worker had made inappropriate comments about his wife. When he approached the alleged victim to demand an apology an altercation took place during which the alleged victim suffered his injuries. After a three day trial the jury deliberated for 5 hours before returning the not guilty verdict on the assault charge by obtaining a not guilty verdict on this.
