About this firm

For more than 20 years Michael Sanders has provided high quality legal services to thousands of people charged with criminal and traffic offenses in Northeastern North Carolina. Mr. Sanders believes in vigorous representation, but not at the expense of courtesy or professionalism.

From Dare and Currituck counties on the Outer Banks to the inland counties of Pasquotank, Camden, Perquimans, Chowan and Gates, Mr. Sanders has and continues to handle criminal and traffic cases of virtually every description. Mr. Sanders has gained acquittals in virtually every type of misdemeanor case (including DWIs) as well as felony cases involving murder, rape, arson, drug offenses and the like. Mr. Sanders is one of the most experienced criminal trial attorneys in Northeastern North Carolina.

Mr. Sanders also routinely handles Federal offenses, with a particular emphasis on driving under the influence on the federal beaches of Hatteras Island and migratory waterfowl offenses.

Mr. Sanders believes in word of mouth referrals based upon quality representation. He does not believe in lawyer solicitations by mail or otherwise.

Mr. Sanders encourages all potential clients to make inquiry concerning the qualifications of any lawyer whom they are considering hiring, including calls to those who work within the court system as those people see the lawyers on a regular basis.

Mr. Sanders charges flat fees in criminal and traffic cases, so that the client knows exactly how much the representation will cost. There are no additional charges for "continuances" or other minor matters which Mr. Sanders believes should be covered by a flat fee.

Mr. Sanders is also available to consult on civil cases involving serious personal injury or death.

All initial consultations are free of charge.
