About this firm

After an arrest on a criminal charge, you need an attorney who will tirelessly defend your rights and protect your freedom. Rick Oliver Attorney at Law provides tenacious representation for people facing any kind of criminal accusation in the Houston, Texas area. We never forget there is a future and a reputation at stake: yours. We are experienced, aggressive, and determined to succeed in every case we defend. Our practice is dedicated almost entirely to criminal defense. Here, you will find representation that understands the legal framework of the criminal justice system, knows the terrain, and can guide you to the best possible outcome of your case.

Rick closely follows and studies the most recent law regarding illegal drug searches, improper warrant procedures, illegal traffic stops, blood and breath testing, self defense, DWI, DUI and many other criminal defense issues. In addition, he attends numerous seminars to ensure that he uses the most recent and effective criminal defense tactics.

Our firm does not have hundreds or thousands of clients at any one time, as some firms do. We believe too many clients at one time can lead to poor legal representation through lack of communication and ineffective case management.

We take on fewer clients so that the clients we do have receive more individual attention resulting in the best possible legal representation. Client communication is a high priority and we strive to ensure that clients feel they can contact their attorney when the need arises.

We do not just plea our clients out. Every case is viewed as a possible jury trial. We try to foster a reputation that we will fight for our clients, every time. You need to know that your lawyer is willing to take your case to a jury trial and that he has the ability to do so. If you just want a lawyer to get a quick plea bargain for very little money, then we are not the firm for you. We charge a fair, competitive rate but we are not the cheapest criminal defense firm in town. We believe you get what you pay for. But we do not believe in charging unfair or unreasonable rates.

We do offer payment plans and we take credit cards. All initial consultations are free.
