Khaled "Kal" Issa has lived in the southwest suburbs his entire life. He graduated Summa Cum Laude from Robert Morris College in Orland Park in 2008. While there, he clerked with the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office in Bridgeview and with a criminal defense office in the Loop. After obtaining his undergraduate degree in Business, he attended The John Marshall Law School in Chicago. He graduated from law school with a certificate in Trial Advocacy in 2011.In addition to his studies, he participated in the 2011 Capitol City Challenge, a mock trial competition held annually in Washington, D.C. where his team was a semi-finalist in the competition. While in law school, he clerked as a 7-11 in the Felony Trial Division of the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office in the Criminal Courts Building at 26th and California. During this time, he successfully litigated numerous pre-trial motions and bench trials. He has been a continuous member of the Illinois State Bar Association.
