Mike Gray was born in 1953 and he is a Perry, Georgia native. He graduated magna cum laude from the University of Georgia with a B.A. in 1975 and he graduated cum laude from Mercer University with a J.D. in 1978. While in law school, Mike was a member of the Mercer Law Review from 1975-1978 and the Assistant Student Writing Editor from 1977-1978.
Mike was admitted to the Georgia bar in 1978. He also is admitted to practice in the Georgia Court of Appeals and Supreme Court of Georgia. Mike has served as a Special Master for the State Bar of Georgia in disciplinary matters and he is a member of the Houston County Bar Association and the State Bar of Georgia.
Mike’s representative clients include the Hospital Authority of Houston County and Houston Healthcare since 1987, the Georgia Beer Wholesalers Association, Inc. since 1989, Davis Oil Company (Chevron, Shell & Pure Oil jobbers), and the AMBRYO Group (Architecture, hotels and restaurant operations).
In his litigation practice, Mike previously represented several major insurance companies as regional counsel in the Middle Georgia area, defending insureds in motor vehicle and a wide variety of premises liability cases. In 2002, he ended his representation of insurance companies and now represents clients who have been seriously injured through the fault of others. In addition to personal injury and wrongful death, Mike’s other practice areas include healthcare law, general civil litigation, real estate, corporate, wills, estates and probate.
Mike is an active member of the Perry Rotary Club since 1980 with perfect attendance for 33 years. Mike served as Past-President from 1987-1988 and Secretary/Treasurer for more than 25 years. He was named a Paul Harris Fellow by the club in 1998.
Mike and his wife, Melinda, have two daughters and two grandchildren. They are members of the Perry United Methodist Church where Mike presently serves on the Staff-Parish Relations Committee. He previously was General Counsel to Perry Area Chamber of Commerce, Inc. and served on its Executive Board.
Mike is a car enthusiast and he enjoys restoring classic BMWs and Porsches.
