  • The body of a woman in her 40s was found on Collins Street near Cowboys Stadium on August 15. According to reports on CBSDFW, the woman had apparently been struck multiple times by vehicles. Not all of the vehicles that struck the woman stopped to render any aid.

The Arlington Police Department currently believes that the death was accidental and they are trying to determine which driver hit the woman first. They will also try to determine if the driver who hit the woman first realized that they had struck a human being.

    Pedestrian Car Wrecks

In any area where there is a lot of pedestrian traffic, there is inevitably an increased amount of car accidents involving pedestrians. Some of these accidents are really not accidents at all, but are the results of outright negligence on the part of drivers. Depending upon the circumstances of an accident, the victim can sometimes sue the driver who struck them for damages and property loss.

    Be Careful

Filing a lawsuit is one of your rights if you are injured by a negligent driver, but it's best to avoid getting into an accident altogether. When you are in an area that has a combination of heavy traffic and many pedestrians, be certain that you keep an eye out when you cross the street. This may seem like rather obvious advice, but many people forget to look both ways more than once before they actually start crossing a street. It's something everybody learned in grade school but it's also something that people tend to forget too easily.

Even though you have the right of away, it's a very good idea to not try to exercise that right to the point of trying to get a driver is speeding to slow down or stop for you. If they seem like they're determined to keep on going, whether or not there are people in the crosswalk, get out of the way.

If you are struck by a driver, you may want to talk to a lawyer located in your local area. One of the reasons you may want to stick with a top rated car accident attorney in your local area is because they will have a knowledge of the city and of the problem spots where drivers do tend to be negligent. A consultation with these attorneys is generally free and it's a good idea to meet with them as soon as possible so you don't miss your opportunity to file a lawsuit.
