Biography

James J. Halligan practices in the areas of trial and litigation. He has served as trial counsel in numerous complex state and federal commercial cases across the United States involving a variety of subject matters, including intellectual property litigation, contracts, covenants not to compete/restrictive covenants, trade secrets, business torts, banking and financial litigation, manufacturer-distributor disputes, products liability, and real estate disputes and transactions. Mr. Halligan frequently represents clients in federal and state court proceedings in which injunctions or temporary restraining orders are sought to enforce non-compete agreements, preclude the theft of trade secrets and otherwise protect intellectual property rights. Mr. Halligan has significant courtroom experience at the pre-trial and trial level and has participated in the representation of clients at the appellate level in both state and federal courts.

Mr. Halligan is a 2010 graduate of Temple University Beasley School of Law, where he was a research and articles editor of The Temple Journal of Science, Technology and Environmental Law. While at Temple Law, Mr. Halligan served as a judicial intern for the Honorable Cynthia M. Rufe of the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. Mr. Halligan is also a graduate, with highest distinction, of the Pennsylvania State University.

Prior to enrolling at the Pennsylvania State University, Mr. Halligan served as an engineer in the United States Army.
