Biography

Sandra A. Jeskie is an experienced litigator, arbitrator, mediator and special master to the courts in a variety of cases involving technology, software, intellectual property or information/data. Her practice includes commercial litigation, software litigation, privacy, data security, Internet of Things (IOT), big data, wearable technology and information technology. She also manages intellectual property litigation for international and domestic clients across the United States. Law360 listed her as Best-of-the-Best Attorneys and Cream of the Crop Litigators . Based on a client satisfaction survey of in-house counsel, BTI Consulting Group also recognized Ms. Jeskie as delivering the absolute best client service. Ms. Jeskie serves as a team lead for the Duane Morris Technology, Media & Telecom industry group, and served as President of the International Technology Law Association (ITechLaw).

Alternative Dispute Resolution. Ms. Jeskie is a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb) and has been recognized by the Silicon Valley Arbitration & Mediation Center (SVAMC) as one of the world’s leading technology arbitrators and mediators on their “Tech List”. She serves as a neutral arbitrator for the American Arbitration Association (AAA) and the International Institute for Conflict Prevention and Resolution (CPR). She also serves the courts as Special Master, Judge Pro Tempore and mediator in complex disputes. Her training in domestic and international arbitration includes programs administered by AAA and the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb).

Commercial Litigation. Ms. Jeskie has been trial counsel in a large number of complex business litigation, technology and IP matters. She is a co-author of chapters in the acclaimed treatise Business and Commercial Litigation in Federal Courts, and The Woman Advocate. She is also the former Chair of the Business Law Section of the Bar Association.

Software Litigation and Licensing. Building on her 16 years of experience as a computer scientist, Ms. Jeskie represents clients in complex software litigation arising from software implementation failures and licensing disputes for both software developers and customers. She was trial counsel in one of the largest software implementation disputes when she represented Lockheed Martin in an action against the New York Mass Transit Authority relating to the installation of an electronic security system. Relying on her software background, she is known for her ability to understand and translate the technical details of complex implementations. She also works with clients to negotiate software licenses and on project management issues during on-going software implementations.

Data Privacy and Cybersecurity. Regularly counseling in the complex areas of data privacy and cybersecurity, Ms. Jeskie helps clients navigate complex privacy laws, including GDPR, and she has handled numerous data breaches of personally identifiable information (PII) and personal health information (PHI), including sophisticated state sponsored attacks. Leveraging a highly cultivated global network, Ms. Jeskie also works with multinational companies on global privacy, GDPR and data security policy development. She is listed in Best Lawyers in the areas of privacy and data security law.

Information Technology. Relying on her technical background, Ms. Jeskie advises clients on a variety of information technology matters including wearable technology/fashion tech, big data, e-commerce, online advertising and marketing campaigns. She served as President of the International Technology Law Association (ITechLaw), taught as adjunct professor at Rutgers School of Law, recognized in the International Who's Who of Internet and e-Commerce Lawyers, appeared as a commentator on several televised programs and is often quoted in the press.

Intellectual Property and Pharmaceutical Litigation. Ms. Jeskie has become a trusted advisor to companies in the pharmaceutical and other industries where she brings together multidisciplinary teams to protect intellectual property and handle general corporate needs.

International Work. Relying on her varied experience, Ms. Jeskie regularly advises international companies in various aspects of their business and has taught at nearly a hundred professional education conferences in numerous cities around the United States and in fourteen countries in Europe, Asia and South America. She has also been trained as an international arbitrator by the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb) and is a fellow of CIArb.

Ms. Jeskie earned her J.D. from Temple University Beasley School of Law, magna cum laude. She graduated with an M.B.A. from La Salle University, where she also earned her B.A. in computer science.
