What was represented initially as the cost of our litigation ($5,000) quickly turned into $20,000, which we cannot afford, so we were forced to accept an outcome which did not go to trial (settling when we could have won). A contingency offer from our attorney is what should have been offered or at least a truthful cost expectation at the very beginning. It cost us more to use them and the same outcome could have been achieved without legal representation. This is standard practice I'm afraid.
